The Story The scene is the Footlights Club, where 16 young actresses struggle to make a name for themselves on the New York stage. At the center of the circle is Terry Randall, a courageous and talented young woman, determined to succeed. The play follows Terry's career, and that of the club's other residents, over three theatre seasons. Terry fights discouragement for her moment on the stage, even as her fellow hopefuls get married, go off to Hollywood, or give up in despair. |
