Much Ado About Nothing
2003 · Academy Repertory Theatre Company
Writer: William Shakespeare
Director: Mark Cofta
Scenic Design: Alfred Cooney
Synopsis
Treat yourself to the original romantic comedy, as only Shakespeare could invent it. Before Rock met Doris, before Tracy met Hepburn, there were Beatrice and Benedick. These two glamorous stars match wits, but we know what is simmering underneath. And the location looks a lot like Hollywood in the 1960's: a Technicolor world of elegant romance and debonair style. Add intrigue, jealousy, plots and counterplots, a dear departed beauty who won’t stay departed, and you have a delightful charade with a guaranteed happy ending.
